Here Comes the Bride...and Groom!

Life Goes On...
Over the next year we worked, camped with family and friends (mostly in Morro Bay),
played with our niece Madison (lots of great memories made!), and enjoyed our newlywedness. In September 2007 we decided that it was time to purchase our first house! It was fun and nerve-racking to be able to pick out the flooring, counters, appliances, and even the doors (which are my favorite part!) In April 2008 we moved into that house and made it a home. It was exciting to get our keys...we were homeowners! By the way... how many people do you think are in the picture below?

The Stork Does Not Deliver a Baby...
In June 2007 we decided that we wanted to
start our little family. Trying to get pregnant could have been a blog in and of itself...have you ever tried to get pregnant? The thermometers, charting, OPKs, pregnancy tests, not having caffiene, alcohol, tuna, or sushi becuase of the chance that you may be pregnant. It should be a full time job! After one heartbreaking miscarriage we found out that we were expecting our first child on James' 27th birthday (March 2008)! We were excited, scared, nervous, and perplexed all at the same time. I imediately re-read all of the pregnancy books that I had (which were purchased by my type-A personality whiole trying to get pregnant). I was going to learn everything that I could so that I would be totally prepared for labor/delivery and being a mommy (yes...you may start laughing...). In the end, we were going to be parents and we did not have a clue as to what the next 9 month would really have in store for us.
After feelling like an overdue library book, I was induced on November 7, 2008 and Hayley May graced us with her presence, via emergency c-section, on November 8, 2008 at 12:44 pm. She was 21 1/4 inches long and 8 pounds.
Hayley was such a light in our lives when she was born.

First Holidays...
Hayley's first Thanksgiving was a blur, considering she was only a 2 weeks old and I was still
recovering from my c-section. We spent the day at Gram and Papa's (James' grandparents) and then drove up to Shaver to celebrate with our closest friends, who will be called "the hoodies" from this point on. :)
